Hello everyone,

I just stumbled across this forum again after... I guess years! I just finished my bachelors in Computer Science, Physics, and Math. It is great to see the tutorials I wrote so long ago still have a home Smiley .

  Is this place still alive?

Hey Vortex, welcome back!
Congratulations for finishing your bachelor!
Yes this board is still alive, but with very little traffic.

We all migrated to SexyKanji, a new engine based on Kanji and some ideas from SexyPopcap

Lol from what I understand, Kanji and SexyKanji are dead... Kanji was bought and SexyKanji pulled from the net. Looks like the framework has either DX7 or PyCap/TuxCap.

Good to still some people around Smiley

Yep, Kanji is closed and is not available anymore, so this is a very small team who work with SexyKanji, it is not dead. As for SexyPopcap - it is exist, but without any updates and support.

Sounds great! Smiley
SexyPopcap - exist, but dont work without Kanji. And Kanji not available. This means Sexypopcap doesn't exist.

Bummer, I suppose I will have to find a new platform if I ever get back into making casual games. I am sort of surprised that the framework would be taken into a direction towards licensing fees, closed source, and now licensing issues. I can understand the decision to save time and base the work on an existing architecture (I would have been tempted to do the same), but that is one of the huge problems when you base the work on something that is not open source Sad . I suppose there is always the Playground SDK...

As for me I am currently doing some work with the Unreal Development Kit. I am not a huge fan of making 3D games but it is a nice change of pace I suppose Smiley

SexyKanji - private, because of Kanji, there is no sense to share it without Kanji. No more public updates for SexyKanji.
